More Than Makeup — A Moment with Sonia and Her Little One

Some stories begin with one sister, and gently unfold into something much more.Sonia first came to me through her sister, Sharon — a beautiful bride I had the honour of glamming on her wedding day.

 

Years later, Sonia invited me into her own journey, and I’ve since had the privilege of doing her hair and makeup for both her newborn photoshoots.On the day of her recent shoot, Sonia arrived at my studio with her baby in her arms, and in that tender moment, I felt the weight of it all.

 

The love. The stillness. The fatigue.

 

As a mother myself, it brought me back to those fleeting early days with my son. That newborn chapter, so delicate, so demanding, so deeply precious.Becoming a parent asks so much of us, physically, emotionally, endlessly. That’s why I don’t just offer makeup and hair for new mums, I offer support. I prepared a soft mattress for her baby to rest, brought out nappy wipes, and made sure her husband didn’t need to carry a thing more than he had to. Because beauty isn’t just about appearance, it’s about being seen, cared for, and held.It’s this level of care I offer all my clients, whether it’s for your wedding, pregnancy, or newborn photoshoot in Sydney.
